Our scholarships help ensure that JCA programs and initiatives remain accessible to community members who might not otherwise be able to participate. We’re dedicated to offering inclusive, welcoming opportunities for all individuals and families who want to be part of the vibrant life of our organization.
High School Awards
To apply for a high school award, please send an email to
jca@mainejewish.org detailing which scholarship(s) to which you'd like to apply or nominate someone for, and include a brief description of relevant achievements. Please also ask your school to forward a copy of your transcript to
jca@mainejewish.org.
Linda and Joel Abromson Award
The Jewish Community Alliance is proud to announce that it is accepting applications for the Linda and Joel Abromson Award, which provides a scholarship to community members who have envisioned a project, allowing the applicant the opportunity to explore Jewish life in unique and creative ways.
Applicants are required to submit a letter of support for their project, a description of the project and how it would benefit the community, the project time frame, the estimated cost and budget for the project, a resume, and the amount they are requesting. The committee will review all proposals and may follow up with applicants with any additional questions.
Fistal Family Nursing Scholarship
Applicants must write a one-hundred-word statement on why they want to become a Registered Nurse:
- High school applicants must also provide a high school transcript, a description of their extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation from two teachers and one other non-related person who is familiar with the applicant’s accomplishments.
- Non-traditional students must submit three letters of recommendation, one from an employer or professional contact.
