The Jewish Community Alliance (JCA) is a central hub for Jewish life, education, and community support. As a combined Jewish Federation, Jewish Community Center, and Jewish Family Services program, we provide meaningful programs, essential services, and opportunities to connect.

Our mission is to promote and sustain Jewish life locally and beyond through education, social programs, and fundraising. In collaboration with local organizations and congregations, we strengthen our community and create a welcoming space for all.
Our Story
The Jewish Community Alliance (JCA) of Southern Maine has long been a cornerstone of Jewish life in the region, growing and evolving to meet the changing needs of the community.

The roots of the JCA stretch back to the early 20th century, when Jewish immigrants arrived in Maine seeking new opportunities while preserving their traditions. Small but resilient, the Jewish community in Southern Maine established social groups, religious institutions, and charitable organizations to support one another. Over time, these efforts led to the formation of several key institutions, including a local Jewish Federation, a Jewish Community Center (JCC),
and Jewish Family Services.

Today, the JCA is a vibrant and inclusive nonprofit organization that serves as a hub for Jewish life in Southern Maine. With a dedicated staff, passionate volunteers, and strong community partnerships, we continue to offer educational programs, cultural events, and social services that enrich lives and bring people together.

From supporting families in need to celebrating Jewish traditions, the JCA is deeply woven into the fabric of Southern Maine. As we look to the future, we remain committed to building a welcoming, dynamic community where Jewish life thrives and where all are encouraged to engage, learn, and give back.
