Limmud

Rooted in the Hebrew word lamad - to learn - limmud reflects Judaism's enduring call to lifelong study. At the JCA, this value comes alive, and every moment we grow together in knowledge, curiosity, and spirit.



Hedva

In Hebrew, hedva translates to"joy." The name also carries connotations of sweetness and is associated with kindness and compassion in Jewish Culture. At the JCA we find joy, create connections, adn enjoy time together.

Tikkun Olam

Tikkun olam, the Jewish call to repair the world, teaches us that we are responsible for pursuing justice, compassion, and acts of kindness. At the JCA, this value guides us in serving others and strengthening the community close to home and beyond.

Often thought of as "charity," tzedakah truly means justice. It is the Jewish responsibility to share our resources and ensure dignity for all. Through your participationand generosity, we bring this timeless value to life in Maine and beyond

Great Big Maine Challah Bake

The Great Big Maine Challah Bake is an unforgettable afternoon of community, connection, and tradition. Hosted by Rimon, Southern Maine's hub for Jewish women's programming, this beloved event welcomes women and girls (ages 10+) from across the state to roll up their sleeves and braid something beautiful together.

Tropical Trivia

Tropical Trivia is a special Annual Campaign Kick-Off and Silent Auction Fundraiser. At this event, community spirit shines. You'll enjoy delicious food, delightful sweet treats, and a cash bar. Bid on incredible auction items and experiences while putting your trivia skills to the test. Grab a friend, or a table of friends, and let's make memories and strengthen our bonds together!

Jewish-Asian Friendship Dinner

Each year, we host the Jewish–Asian Friendship Dinner, a special evening dedicated to celebrating friendship, culture, and community. This beloved event brings people together to share a delicious meal, enjoy meaningful conversation, and strengthen the bonds between Jewish and Asian communities in Maine.


Through food, storytelling, and connection, the evening highlights the power of cultural exchange and the importance of building understanding across communities. All are welcome to join this warm and festive celebration.

Mitzvah Day with the JCA

Join fellow community members, JCA members, volunteers, and staff for a special service and civic engagement day. Fall Festival

Each fall, the Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine welcomes the community to celebrate the season at the Annual Fall Festival at Center Day Camp. This family-friendly event features festive activities, outdoor fun, delicious food, and opportunities for all ages to gather and connect.


Set against the beautiful backdrop of Center Day Camp, the festival is a joyful way to celebrate autumn, spend time with friends and neighbors, and experience the warmth of the JCA community.
