Community Hall
Our largest event space, The Sam L. Cohen Community Hall, accommodates up to 150 people theater style and up to 96 people banquet style. Its features include a built-in screen and projector, as well as a fully integrated audio system. Additional features include a speaker’s podium and both wired and wireless microphones. The Sam L. Cohen Community Hall features a built-in partition, making this space perfect for large conferences, parties, or smalle,r more intimate events.

Albert Glickman
Board Room
The Albert Glickman Board Room accommodates up to 20 people. Its features include multiple electrical outlets and data ports, teleconference capabilities, a whiteboard and a mounted 70” screen television for presentations. The Albert Glickman Board Room has large floor-to-ceiling windows that provide ample natural light and offers movable tables that allow setup flexibility. The Albert Glickman Board Room is perfect for executive meetings, group discussions or lunch meetings.

Moser Family Library
The Moser Family Library accommodates up to 25 people. Its features include a built-in screen and projector as well as a whiteboard. With movable tables that allow versatile setups, this intimate space is ideal for community group gatherings, lunch meetings, or small baby showers.

The Great Lawn
& Activity Space
Located on the edge of the property, the Great Lawn & Activity Space accommodates a 20x40 tent and extra space for outdoor activities. This space is well-suited for cocktail receptions, small dinner gatherings, or just a play space for the kids in your event.

Audio Visual
All rental spaces (with the exception of the lawn) are equipped with audio visual systems, including large screens and projectors
Set-up & Rentals
All events require a $500 non-refundable deposit at the time of contract signing to reserve the space. The placement and location of all tables and equipment must be agreed on ahead of time; room set-up is included in the rental fee.
Items such as table linens, TVs, video screens, flip charts, and microphones are available at a nominal charge.
Deposit & Insurance
All events require a $500 non-refundable deposit at the time of contract signing to reserve the space.
Lessee shall provide a certificate of insurance from an insurance company licensed in Maine and otherwise reasonably acceptable to the Lessor, naming Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine as additional insured, evidencing public liability for bodily injury and property damage occurring on or about the Facilities and/or any portion of Jewish Community Alliance for $1,000,000.00. The certificate of insurance must be received 30 days before the date of the event.
Venu & Access
Access to the venue before the agreed-upon rental hours is subject to availability and may incur additional fees
Standard curfew for private events is 11:00 PM. All event times must be worked out in advance of executing a rental agreement.
The JCA Facility is handicapped accessible; if an attendee requires special accommodations, please inform us, and we will provide you with the available options.
The JCA is a non-smoking and non-vaping venue.
Parking
Our parking lot is located behind our building, at 1342 Congress St. During business hours, please refrain from parking in the adjacent lot (dentist office at 1330 Congress St) or at the Westgate Shopping Plaza, as they have posted signage that non-customers will be towed. If the JCA parking lot is full, parking is available on the neighboring streets. You may also park in the lot at 1330 Congress during non-business hours ONLY (i.e., after 5 PM on weekdays or during weekends).
Food & Beverage
Outside food and beverages are allowed. Please note that no pork or shellfish is allowed in the building at any time. The J does not provide catering services, but we can make recommendations. All caterers must provide a copy of their state Caterer’s license and Certification of Liability insurance. Alcohol is permitted on the premises and must be served by a licensed caterer or bartending service supplying a valid Maine Liquor Permit. In either case, we require a copy of a valid Certificate of Liquor Liability Insurance with a minimum of $1,000 coverage naming the Jewish Community Alliance as the additional insured.
