Feeling stressed? Discover a new way to relax with Yoga Nidra!

Practiced lying down, Yoga Nidra is for everybody, regardless of age or fitness level. No prior experience necessary! You will learn how to relax your nervous system, focus your mind, and balance your emotions. Regular practice of yoga nidra can help relieve symptoms of insomnia, PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression, and everyday stress. Ongoing research continues to uncover the positive benefits of this practice!

Each class will include a discussion on the philosophical aspects of the practice, gentle stretching to prepare the body for stillness, and guided meditation that leads to the state of Yoga Nidra. You will be guided through various breathing, body scanning, and visualization techniques that take you into a state of deep relaxation and integration. This series will allow you to dive deep into the practice with new techniques and a new video introduced each week so you can practice at home.

You’re encouraged to bring warm cozy clothes to help keep you comfortable for the duration of the practice, which involves sustained periods of lying in stillness. Blankets, bolsters, mats, and blocks will be provided - although you are welcome to bring your own blankets, pillows, etc.  This series includes four 75-minute classes, four guided Yoga Nidra YouTube videos tailored to the class, and a journal.

Feel free to contact Ashley at relax@ashleyflowersyoga.com or Hannah at programs@mainejewish.org with questions about the course!

Are you curious about essential oils? Learn how you can use essential oils to improve your physical health and to promote your emotional wellness. The first three sessions will focus on the energetic benefits of essential oils. We will use oils on specific acupuncture points to clear out old patterns of behavior and magnetize abundance in all aspects of life. In the final session, we will discuss options for using essential oils to maintain and promote physical health. Each week you will have the option to take home an essential oil blend to enhance physical and emotional well-being.

Two options for taking this class:

  • If you would like to use your own oils or just want to come and learn, this workshop is free.
  • If you would like to use the teacher’s oils, the total cost for 4 weeks is $60, and will include a roller bottle blend and a diffuser blend each week.
  • All attendees are welcome to smell and apply oils in class!
