Presentation followed by Q&A

In this first annual program sponsored by Sue Erber to honor the memory of her father, Steven Avraham Erber, Sue will be speaking about how the arts were key to her father’s survival during the Holocaust and how to honor this legacy for fellow survivors and those were were lost. Teens and young adults are encouraged to attend and all are welcome. Sue will be introducing a fellow congregant, Russell Kaback who will be performing an original work titled 20544 about his grandfather’s youth spent in Nazi labor and concentration camps.

25044 is a one-man musical story, written and performed by Russell Kaback, based on the life of his grandfather Szyjek Magier, a Polish Jewish teenager who spent four years in the Nazi labor and concentration camps.

Presented in Russell’s unique theatrical storytelling style that weaves together original songs, guitar, characters, sound effects and gestures, the piece incorporates personal interviews, testimonies, in-depth research and imagination.

Russell Kaback’s 25044 invites the audience to consider the experience of one young man’s heart-wrenching journey, reminding us that life and hope can endure. 25044 is a one-man musical story, written and performed by Russell Kaback, based on the life of his grandfather Szyjek Magier, a Polish Jewish teenager who spent four years in the Nazi labor and concentration camps.
