Purim 2021

Feb 26, 2021

Categories ,

Purim is a fun, joyful holiday celebrating the salvation of the Jews of ancient Persia as told in the biblical Book of Esther (the Megillah in Hebrew). In 2021, Purim begins in the evening of Thursday, February 25th and continues through Friday, February 26th.  We can celebrate Purim by reading or performing the story in the Megillah, wearing costumes,  and eating a variety of yummy hamantaschen (triangular  cookies with fruit, chocolate or other fillings). Some families also send gift baskets of food to family and friends (mishloach manot), eat a festive meal, and give tzedakah (righteous giving to support those in need). Whatever your favorite Purim traditions are and however your celebrations may look this year, we wish your family much joy this Purim.
