Bookworms take note: the Portland Hadassah Book Group has combined forces with the Maine Jewish Museum!

The NEW Portland Hadassah X MJM Book Group will meet at the Museum from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM on the second Tuesday of the month (except April, when we will meet on a Wednesday) through May. For our next meeting on January 10, we will be discussing Outwitting History: The Amazing Adventures of a Man Who Rescued a Million Yiddish Books by Aaron Lansky. Join fellow bibliophiles for lively discourse and warm camaraderie!

RSVP to dlarochelle@mainejewishmuseum.org.

And for those of you who like to plan ahead, here’s the schedule for the remainder of the calendar year:

February 14 (a two-book month!): The Hare with the Amber Eyes by Edmund De Waal and The Stolen Lady: A Novel of WWII and the Mona Lisa by Laura Morelli
March 14: Objects of Love and Regret by Richard Rabinowitz
April 12 (Wednesday instead of Tuesday due this week only): The Song of Names by Norman Lebrecht
May 9: Shaya, an Odyssey of Food, My Journey Back to Israel by Alon Shaya — to celebrate the final book group meeting of the year, we will combine this meeting with a pot luck lunch based on recipes from the book
