“For the place that you stand on is Holy earth” (Exodus 3:5)

This three week overview will introduce and explore some of the core Jewish ecological principles that frame our understanding of our sacred relationship to the land. We will explore biblical texts and their evolution through the Talmudic, Medieval, Modern and Postmodern eras that continue to cry out for attention as we continue our attempt to reconcile our sacred relationship with the earth today. Middot (norms) covered will include Do Not Destroy בל תשחית , Common Land מגרש, Jubilee Year יובל and Release שמיטה.

October 18, 25, and November 1.

Led by TBE’s Rabbinic Intern Lorin Troderman. Zoom link to be included in upcoming weekly TBE-mails. If you would like to attend and are not on our mailing list, email office@tbemaine.org and we will send you the link.
