Are you an artist, crafter or maker? Would you like to meet and connect with other local makers? If so, bring your current project and any necessary supplies and join us at the JCA! We will designate space for creative people of all kinds and abilities to meet in our library on Wednesday afternoons, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Volunteer-led workshops may also be offered on a variety of topics, including embroidery, knitting, quilting, watercolors, etc. Check out this page for updates about weekly workshop offerings. You do not need to participate for the full two hours and can come and go as your schedule dictates.
Advance registration, while not required, is very helpful for the workshop instructor. If you would like to participate in our weekly workshop, please register before Wednesday. Thank you!
May 10th Workshop: Make a Welcome Blanket Kit with Lauren Persky.
Lauren will lead the group preparing new Welcome Blanket Kits with softer, machine-washable fabrics that are easier to sew. Bring any fabric scraps and swatches you’d like to donate to the cause, a speed square, a cutting mat, and a sharp pair of scissors or x-acto knife. We will make kits that can be taken home to make into blankets later or can be distributed to others who want to make a Welcome Blanket quilt.
