KJFS Diaper Bank

KJFS Diaper Bank
Moving to Referral-only Policy
Beginning September 1, 2023, the KJFS Diaper Bank will accept new clients only with a referral from a case worker, medical professional, school social worker, or the equivalent who has screened the family for diaper need. We believe this change will allow us to more equitably serve those in need in our community. Referrals may be provided via phone at (207) 772-1959 or through email to kjfs@mainejewish.org.

KJFS is the first National Diaper Bank Network participant in Maine. Working with more than a dozen partner agencies, the KJFS Diaper Bank distributed over 300,000 diapers throughout Southern Maine in the past year. As a member of the National Diaper Bank Network, we access diapers for 40% of the retail cost.
Unfortunately, diaper need is a significant issue in Southern Maine, with many families facing the heartbreaking challenge of deciding between buying diapers, food, or paying rent each month. We offer diapers to families who visit our food pantry, and we also distribute diapers to 14 partnering local pantries. KJFS now also distributes menstrual hygiene products and adult incontinence products.
