    A Penne for Your Thoughts

      Please join Friends of Melton for a delicious dairy lunch from 1:00pm - 2:00pm followed by a fascinating series of half-hour discussions led by current or past Melton students. For students of any Jewish educational background, from the first-timer to the scholar!

     

    Suggested $10 donation in advance, $12 at the door. Raffel tickets will also be sold for $18 for a chance to win a $100 tuition credit!

    Summer & Fall Farm Shares 

    Registration Due Friday, May 10, 2013

    The JCA is coordinating a group delivery of summer farm shares through Cultivating Community Fresh Start Farms. From July through October, pre-packaged boxes of locally-grown vegetables will be fropped off at the JCA for participants to pick up weekly.

     

    A single share feeds 1-2 people, a family share feeds 2-4 people. Sign up for 8 deliveries in July & August or September & October or a full 16 weeks. 

     

    Single Share: $150 for 8 deliveries, $285 for 16 deliveries

    Family Share: $285 for 8 deliveries, $560 for 16 deliveries

    Late registration (if received after May 10) is subject to availability and a $15 late charge.

    Mah Jongg Adv. Beg. Class 

    Mondays, May 13, 20 and June 2, 2013, 6:00pm - 7:30pm

    If your mah jongg skills are rusty or you need a referesher, this is the class for you!

    Instructor Sharon Ash Tancredi will help you brush up on your mah jongg skills. This class will emphasize strategy and get you ready to participate in our Annual Mah Jongg Marathon! Students are required to have the 2013 Mah Jongg card which can be ordered by joining the National Mah Jongg League at www.nationalmahjonggleague.org or by mailing a check to: The National Mah Jongg League, Inc., 250 West 57th Street, New York, NY  10107. Standard size is $7.00/large print is $8.00.

    3rd Annual Mah Jongg Marathon

    Sunday, June 9, 2013, 12:00pm - 6:00pm

    Join us for the 3rd Annual Maine Mah Jongg Marathon! We'll be playing to honor the memory of Shelley Dassa (April 28, 1942 - December 17, 2010), mah jongg maven and instructor extraordinaire!

    Bring a set if you have one, your 2013 card and all your mah jongg playing friends. All levels of player are welcome! Come for the day or just an hour or two. Single players will be divided into levels and rotate on the hour. Foursomes are also welcome! Each table will set their own pi.

    This year we'll have a Mah Jongg Museum! Meaningful sets and their stories will be on display with their stories for the day. Please contact Fae if you would like to include a set in the museum.

    Lunch is availalbe. $12.00 in advance, $15.00 at the door. Entrance fee: $18.00 per person in advance, $20.00 at the door. Proceeds will be donated in Shelley's honor to the Jewish Community Alliance and the Hospice of Southern Maine. Early registration is due by June 4.
