The Jewish Community Alliance (JCA) of Southern Maine welcomes you. We hope this website will help you become acquainted with, and feel at home within, our Jewish Community. We are here to answer your questions and help you establish a rich, full Jewish life. Please join us and participate in our growing and vibrant community.
The JCA is a nonprofit organization serving the Jewish population throughout Southern Maine. Formed in 1999, the JCA is the result of a merger of two institutions, the Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Federation of Southern Maine, to combine the program and fund raising arms of the Jewish Community.
The mission of the JCA is to build Jewish community locally, in Israel and throughout the world. The JCA develops, provides, and supports diverse programs, education, and services in order to accomplish these goals. The JCA works with other Jewish organizations and local congregations, and functions as the centerpiece of Jewish programming in Southern Maine.
Your values inspire us. You strength empowers us. Your commitment is at the very heart of our community.
You are the Jewish Community Alliance (JCA): giving to others, taking responsibility, acting with loving-kindness.
The JCA needs to grow the community and its traditions for your children and your children's children. It's your need to provide both immediate comfort and long-term solutions ... to help heal the world, bringing dignity and opportunities where none existed before. You are the Jewish Community Alliance. And your generosity does a world of good. more
